The Palm Tree Cave House

Originally one traditional Santorini cave house, this 180 m² residence has been thoughtfully divided into two independent living spaces, Cave House One and Cave House Two, accommodating up to two artists. Each space has its own private entrance opening onto the shared courtyard and offers a distinct combination of living, working, and sleeping facilities. Together, they retain the character and atmosphere of the original home while providing comfortable and independent spaces for two resident artists.

Built into Santorini’s volcanic architecture, the cave house maintains a naturally balanced temperature throughout the year, creating a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere in every season. All rooms open onto a shared courtyard overlooking an old palm garden, surrounded by local plants and flowers. An upper-level terrace offers expansive views of the sunrise, the Aegean Sea, parts of the caldera, and the village castle.

The outdoor areas are furnished with tables, chairs, and sunbeds, providing inviting spaces for working, reading, relaxing, or simply enjoying the surroundings.

The two living spaces—Cave House One and Cave House Two—are independent from one another, while sharing the courtyard and outdoor areas, allowing each artist to enjoy privacy as well as a connection to the unique atmosphere of the original home.

Cave House One

A spacious and light-filled living space, Cave House One is designed around a generous sitting and working area. It features a large, comfortable sofa that converts into a sleeping space, a discreet office area, and a generous dining area with a fully equipped kitchen. A compact, well-appointed bathroom completes the space.

Traditional parathira—openings in the roof that allow soft natural light to enter—are an important architectural feature, creating a beautiful atmosphere throughout the interior and particularly in the kitchen and dining area.

Cave House Two

Cave House Two offers a more intimate and private retreat, centred around a spacious master bedroom and a striking, generously sized bathroom.

The bedroom features a discreet work area with a discreet work area, providing a quiet and comfortable setting for focused work. A compact kitchenette with a refrigerator and essential cutlery offers everything needed for simple everyday meals and refreshments. With its generous proportions, beautiful bathroom, and calm atmosphere, Cave House 2 provides a peaceful space to retreat, work, and unwind.
